Thunder Plays Tag

Lightning flashes brightly outside our front window. Rain's falling fast and furious. Feeling IT in my fingers, vibration jolts and loosens the window pane. Delightful, but frightful, quivers follow lightning. Tag game mommy shudders; I'm deaf, but I sense IT. My sister covers up her ears awaiting, anticipating something. I wait for looks on their faces. "You're IT!" you make me shake like a sudden tag game?

The deaf do hear with their eyes and they also feel vibrations more acutely than those who can hear. I enjoyed your beautifully written entry Reason. Congratulations on your most deserving second placement! : )

And congratulations on your fine entry also. I really like your dueling swords, colliding. Great vibrations with your rattles, shatters and trembles. It was a great contest, wasn't it? Thanks for commenting on my piece.

Thanks, Vijay, I appreciate your time and energy in commenting. I tried to emphasize a deaf person’s interaction with people who can hear the sound - their reactions.
