Whenever a carrion appears, vultures rally round. After a sumptuous meal, they need water to wash down their throats. Great Tanka.

I would think so, Valsa. As Buford the buzzard (vulture) said, "My mother said son you can eat anything if I would put enough katsup on it". Thank you for the visit and understanding review. Sara K.

Gosh you always write so well about weather, and I fear thunderstorms, so I couldnt help but feel for the ones who might have phobia too for thunderstorms. Its really hot where I am at dear Sara: The weather it seems is now unpredictable everywhere. Sigh! Was it badly flooded? Hope the puddles soon be gone and weather be calm. Pleasure always reading you! Sending you light always

IE, we have been in a drought here for some time now so the rain was nice and it was a nice rain but there was a lot of thunder which means that lightning was happening somewhere. We did not have any flooding that I know of, but a lot of places did have flooding from this last episode. We could get some more today which would be nice because we do need some more. I appreciate the kind reviews, Sara K.

Yes, Anne-Lise, we have to have them to keep our earth clean of all things dead for everyone's health sake. Thank you for the visit and kind review. Sara K.

Goshhh .. the destructive nature of thunderstorms you've so brilliantly illustrated here, Sara.. those lifelines creatures being consumed by the vultures..sigh, everything has a cycle.. that's a sad sight though.. a very moving tanka! Wonderfully done! Sending you light and best wishes always ~

Yes, Hiya, it is sad to see something being killed by a car. I know one day a yellow swallowtail butterfly flew into my path as I was driving and I was cringing hoping I would not hit it then hoping it survived. I need God's light renewed every minute of every day. Your visit was uplifting. Sara K.

Nette, I wondered if someone killed whatever animal it was during one of the storms hitting late in the day or at night, but I'll never know. I wonder if it did any damage to their car. Your visit with such a nice review is awesome. Sara K.

Is that a picture of yours. What a sad sight. Those vultures all over the place. Well done, Sara

No, Andrea, not my picture. I saw a flock of vultures drinking from a puddle of water from the rain of the afternoon and night before and they had eaten all of wherever was dead in the road so I thought I would write about it. Your visits are appreciated. Sara K.

Wow, hearty lunch, we have coyotes running our streets at all hours now, they sound like banshees. Great Tanka, Sara~

Anaya, we have coyotes here as well but since I live rural, I have only seen two. One was in our yard in the daylight hours coming in our garden gate and I stood up tall and looked at it and he turned and left for which I was grateful. I can hear them when I am outside all the time especially early in the morning and late in the afternoon. Thank you for the visit to my poetry page. Sara K.
