Thunder
Weather is frightful where did summer go?
River of rain the gutters are immersed
Road underwater, brooklet does flow
Think we suffer from dire wet-weather curse.
Heavy drops of rain pound on window pane
I hear a rolling sound drawing so near
Giant playing marbles in his domain
Thunder roars overhead then I feel fear.
Hammer blows resounding in midnight sky
Streak lightening splits open heavens above
Thunder again, under duvet I lie
Safe in strong arms of my best beloved.
Softly sleep claims me as thunder recedes
Storm truly momentous I do believe.
