Thrown Away Rose

Somewhere in a cupboard, or put away on a shelf Remains a vase ever lonely, for love to be held The dust it's collected, reflects on the heart Growing ever more bitter, growing ever more hard Longing to nourish and sustain what's inside Any color is fine, be it pink, red, or white Each blossoms from nothing, then withers away The important part is, that which remains The petals will fall and the leaves will soon wilt Each but a symbol, of that which we've built So feel free to be happy, but please don't be vain Because a vase remains empty, this Valentines Day The world's still lacking love, and how do we know? It only requires but one: Thrown Away Rose
