Through the Eyes of Children
grown adults,
like you and me,
perennially
walk the tightrope
between the past and the future,
whereas children
remain
firmly rooted
to the present;
living moment to moment.
imagine if we were to return
to the world of innocence
in which they live
to run around
and play like they do?
how often do we grown folks
see the world
through their keen eyes?
from their perspective?
we'd learn to appreciate
the most infinitesimal of things.
we'd marvel
with wide-eyed wonder
at all overlooked beauties of life.
we'd retrieve lost things
long sifted past
our memory bank.
oh, to be a child again,
if only for a while...
wouldn't it be grand?
