Through Her Eyes

in the depths
of her eyes
all i sense
is sadness

i'd like to
go backwards
through time
just to comfort her

i see the etches
of pain layered
deep within
little lines
from nimble hands
running along her edges

i see the scars
hidden beneath
the surface
and the emptiness
of dreams
within her eyes

in the depths
of her eyes
i now see me

Sadness drips from your pen my friend. So much seen in these eyes, at what do they stare, what images create the thoughts, what are they searching for? Your words create these thoughts in the most amazing way.

Wow...powerful in it's sadness, I see now why some compare you to Plath. You are a better writer in my opinion!

I think you have portrayed this picture perfectly with your words. And this little girl brings clarity to you now. I would love to read a piece from you about what she would see in you. I think it would be everything she needed back then, and that she would gaze in wonder at all you have become, despite it all, my friend <3 hugs

I think we would all love to go back in time and give our younger selves a hug. Wonderful poem. Have a great day.

So sad, yet this is the way of life many times... years bring sadness, yet there is true joy in the Lord. He is my strength and the reason I don't fall into the depths of that sad stream. God bless you, sweet lady, for all your kindness. You're a angel. Love to you, Gina
