Throne Jesting

We call it a throne, Where you sit all alone. A necessary invention, Beneath our attention. I hesitate to say, What it takes away. We seldom are seen, In this place we've all been. What would you do If you hadn't a loo? The world's seat of power, Right after your shower. It's your time to think, Next to the sink. Wonder how much gets read, When perched on the head? A penchant for flushing, Keeps gallons a gushing. The world can be naughty, Only a third have a potty. With some comforts we find, We're really quite blind.

Most of us take for granted using the lavatory. I think of it as a privilege. One time when I was in Osaka, with my son who was 12 at the time, while visiting the Osaka castle we saw a large banner that said Western Toilet in huge letters. We were so thrilled to have the comfort of home like in America. Many things have changed now. Contd.

As I traveled the world, we'd rank places by toilets too. Wanted to write a piece about it with no really nasty words. (Saw your name mentioned on another site as a poet of note, so lucky to get your comment) Loved your story. Be well dear muse.

Sam, so sad to see we arrive together at the bottom of the pit...well, actually you are a few places above me. Please don't flush! Thanks my friend for the visit.
