Three Mid-October Limericks

OLD CHARLIE

Old Charlie played ball too long, and of course
He played with gusto, with real driving force
   How his muscles, they ached
He cried out, For Goodness' sake!'
~ Today medics call this a 'charley horse.'

    ROMEO

Romeo was a real hit with the girls
They swooned over his long hair's golden curls
   Romeo had his way
   And proceeded to say
"You'll just love the flag of Rome I unfurl!"

    HOCUS-POCUS
Jessica could fix computer glitches
Did so with words, without any hitches
   She said, "Hocus-pocus,
   Computer, please focus."
But the software, she left it in stitches

Heh, instead of hocus pocus, local Jessicas have a spell they put on computers. Literally. In translation from Russian it sounds like this: "Mars, Mercury, Apollo, protect my computer. The virus will be defeated, it will not meet me") P.S.: Pls, see soup mail.

Ha! I'm going to ask my wife if she knows about this, as she was a computer programmer in Kharkiv back in the day (through 1993). Smiles, Gershon

Cause you're once, twice, three times a poet. Sorry just channeling my inner Lionel Richie. :) These were fun my friend.

Thanks, Lionel... who is one of my all-time favorites. Loved him at the 1984 Olympics with his rendition of 'Freedom.' I remember him 'stealing' the show at either Opening or Closing Ceremonies. Warmest wishes, Chris! ~ Gershon
