Three-Fold Search
Three-Fold Search
I walked the earth in search of God,
Explored a thousand different creeds.
But found him in the furrowed sod,
A babbling brook and a fresh-sown seed.
For faith I searched with brain and breath.
Through mighty volumes part by part;
But at the gentle kiss of death.
I found it in my heart.
I searched for truth and heard his voice.
Across the span of time and space;
Christ seemed so near, and yet so far;
There in the night I saw his face.
His richness and beauty unmatched are,
And peerless is his love.
For in his palm I saw a scar.
Above his head a Dove.
