Thought,Word and Deed
Volcanic magma seethes beneath the surface,
Ready to erupt into view, when energised.
Our thoughts swirl and seethe too
Until we learn to marshal them,
Through the spectrum of our education,
Reining in our impulses ,to give them voice.
What we say about others, says more about us,
Unless ,like chameleons,
we blend into our backgrounds
And words become our camouflage
So that, when we urge love towards our neighbour,
We speak with ice in our hearts.
How we treat others, what treatment we deserve, let God decide.
Whether this is through neglect or active strife,
Our deeds do speak louder than our words,
Even if the pen is mightier than the sword.
We will be judged by our actions in this life,
If we take the Pater Noster as our guide.
So look deep into your heart and life
And tremble -along with me.
