Thoughts Upon My Poetry Journey

Well this has been a marathon
poetically speaking so much to attain
many hurdles have been jumped over
wording things together always to sustain

This has been such an experience
giving me such a pleasant desire
so that I love to read poetry
really good penning that I never tire

As well as reading I've learned to write
finding it a great source of peace
taking away many stressful nerves
bringing calm wish never to cease

This indeed is an awesome blessing
to receive many messages so kind
the lovely folk here poetically signed
so inspiring bringing much pressing

My future here lies in the heavens
having written on subjects of all kinds
maybe my ink is down to its last drop
bowing with thanks to all with I've dined

Hello Gordon. I'm sorry I haven't visited your page and work in such a long time. Life truly gets in the way and there is not enough time or energy. I turned to this entry do to the title. Your words and entry did not disappoint. This is beautiful and smooth. I loved the voice and tone. For those who do not read it must be a very dark world. Thank you for sharing your poetic talent. It was an honor turning to your page. May this day find you well.

Hi Gordon, how gratifying it is to course through one's own poetic journey ! I concur with all your thoughts, dear friend. Poetry is a means to calm the distressed mind and escape from the world of bitter truths and harsh realities. By reading good poetry, we get new ideas and will be tempted to write more and more . Let your poetic journey continue with greater vigor! All the Best !

Thanks Valsa, for your kind encouraging words that make one reconsider and I'll probably still be writing but not as much as I'm in the midst of looking over all my 2000-plus poems to sort out the good from the bad. Every blessing, Gordon
