Thought It Was Love

gave her everything
all his eggs filled her basket
now one’s just broken

Hi Harry, sometimes we crash and burn. You have written this sad Senryu with skill and feeling. She should have realised what she had. Hope you are well, Harry ..... Mike.

Harry I hope he had a prenup he might be able to replace that egg that cracked and come away without costing anything. These days if you have assets it is recommended you get a prenuptial agreement in case the old egg breaks. Enjoyed reading and I hope you don't mind my attempt at humor. Have a nice week my friend and God bless you...

"gave her everything" Right away this tells me that his love was unconditional, while hers was not. So sad indeed. Respect is also something that many lack. Your thoughts caress softly around me and my heart. Many wonderful blessings to you, my dear sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy

She should have looked after her eggs and nurtured them more lovingly, it only takes one to break the chain. Great senryu. Hugs and blessings, Jennifer.

In its brevity, your awesome senryu still speaks volumes on the hazards of falling in love. Nice work, Harry.

It reminds me of an old saying, " don't put all your eggs in one basket, " but when we fall in love that is exactly what we do Harry. If its true love, not one single egg shall be broken, I love your fragile poem, it speaks volumes about our human ways and vulnerabilities . Much love xo As for ice cream, if its strawberry, I'm there :)

Lord knows harry....what few lines dig so deep...take us to depths we would rather avoid but that is the job of the poet...so beware poets are well known for opening doors where fools rush in....but life would not be life without the poet exposing all of its sides...great job...

What a beautiful haiku, Harry. If one egg begins to break, it is likely that others will follow suit. Never put all of your eggs in one basket.
