Edison was a clever inventor and an entrepreneurial genius, like Steve Jobs. The real technical brains were Nikola Tesla's, whom he screwed over quite well. Congratulations on the win!

Dear Ralph, I love your clerihew. Edison is said to have come up with his inspiration for inventions by sitting next to a tin can with coins in his hand. As he started to fall asleep into an "alpha state," the coins would drop and wake him up. This way he remembered the things that often come only on the edge of sleep. Congratulations on your win! Congrats for your win in my contest, Ralph. the last line was kind of funny to imagine the guy debating whether or not to tell the world about the light in his kitchen. hahaha.
