This Old Guitar This old guitar still longs to play his tender tunes of yesterday that crooned to lovers in the night beneath the stars and moon’s soft light and gently stole their hearts away. His strings now stretched with time’s dismay and frets worn down as years betray with aging ache that’s meant to spite this old guitar. Oh how he longs for past’s array when life was but a chic cliché; but now it’s hard to get it right, while searching passions in the night when no one ever wants to play this old guitar. Thank you, Maggie. You are such a talented lady, are you taking lessons? And are you still playing your keyboard?

Love it John. The form, cadence and subject are all 'in tune' with what I truly enjoy reading in a poem. Cheers - Gary

Lovely reminiscing of that guitar! I tend to think as instruments with their own personality. Read the poem called "Love the Master Player"- you would really like it. I forget the poet's name though.

Perfect. You got the rhyming but most of all you got the subject that made it an art worth observing.

This is a great poem John.Very imaginative.Love the line, ‘His string’s now stretched with time’s dismay’. I have always wanted to be able to play the guitar but unfortunately not that musically inclined! Thank you for sharing.

Your words are tender, emotional, and beautiful, all at the same time. Thank you for adding the photo, it wraps around your thoughts perfectly. It also helps the reader to embrace the emotions even more. Your final thought curls softly around me and my heart. My best to you, my sweet friend. Hugs, Brandy
