This Morning's Sky
This morning’s sky held such a treat –
A waning crescent moon.
I followed it while walking
But it disappeared too soon.
At first it hid behind some clouds
But then, as daylight came,
It disappeared from view, like when
An art thief leaves the frame.
When luck and circumstance combine
To bring before my eyes
A perfect crescent moon, it is
The loveliest surprise.
