This is a Man's World

It definitely is not, but some men act as if it is. "This is a man's world," sang James Brown, but he ended every chorus repeating the refrain, "But it wouldn't be nothing without a woman or a girl. Read that line again.... Condescending supercilious men should never become a SOUPercillious prig, a bug on a rug that likes to bite like a flea. That should never happen, especially when women have done nothing to provoke. Don't talk down to women about being 'woke.' We're not broke, nor are we mean girls or churls. If that's a male gender problem, adjust yourself... where the testosterone counts the most. Don't boast to women as if you're superior to us. We're not fragile and have the right to make a fuss over being treated like subservient females. Douse your fire and put down your swords. A woman's ire is not something you should incense. It makes no sense to spout and spew ugly remarks. Stop growling like a mad dog that barks and barks. 'Fools rush in where wise men never go.' Another song with lyrics that men should know. Being a Charlie Big Banana doesn't make you a man Pound on your chest like King Kong or a caveman if you must, but supercilious you'll still be.

Hi Lin, My father left my mother when I was 5 years old, me and my two brothers moved in with our nan,while our mum took the role of our dad and went to work to keep us, while at school I met my wife to be Ann,so I owe everything to those 3 amazing ladies, so in my opinion it's a woman's world, God bless.

Mo, it is cathartic when we can put into written words the emotions that need venting after reading a display of insulting malarkey from a bully or a troll. One has become two whose beaver tails slap and try to splash mud on women. When the insults continue, one deletes and swims back into his pond. The other continues to scorn, growling like a rabid dog. Thanks for your boldness.

Lin, you hit the male on the head! Really good. I would say men and women complement each other. The more we can listen and adjust to each other's desires and wishes, the better the world becomes for everyone. Unfortunately, some men have an inferiority complex or lack of self esteem that drives their foolishness and destructiveness. Being a destroyer is much easier and satisfies a lusting fool. Smiles!

male on the head... that's a great line, Duke! I don't know what prompted the write that inspired this one, but commenting on it was not something I chose to do. However, I couldn't sit on my fingers without backing up my 'Not Today, Tumbleweed' poem. That last sentence of yours gives pause to ponder. Merci, Duke.

I love that song you began with. I think all women can recognize it's meaning. Truly the world is nothing without a woman or a girl. I think conservative and liberal women alike feel strongly about their strengths in this world. To the men who abuse their partners and see women as inferior or as possessions and second class citizens , I say shame on you.

Yes, but it's too bad that some men don't recognize and it's meaning to be true. We suffer and bleed to have children... they only get the pleasure at the creation. That sound's awful, but I'm not a suffragette. I don't need to stand on a soap box. Thanks for your comments, Andrea.

No doubt, Tania. A rather gruff blustering that was flippant and insulting to women was addressed. If anyone, man or woman, thought it was not... they have a right to their opinion, but many of us conceived it to be snide, patronizing and degrading to our intelligence.

Brilliant Lin, such a demonstration of deficiency it was. Misrepresentations galore and glorifying one of the worst examples of a human for a very long time. Apparently I'm the type of woman he's offended by, I didn't get to ask why because I was blocked (presumably the offensive women are those that talk back). No wonder the female in closest proximity (ish) to him has become an expert "throat puncher"

There shouldn't be a need to talk back or take umbrage with condescending words written or spoken by any man. Words that lash out cannot be ignored. The thought that women should be beholding to Trump is as ludicrous as that sex offending felon sitting in the Oval Office. We should be appreciative to a rapist? Yeah, Anne-Lise. Maybe some of the mammoth genes scientists are using in mice have blown around into the nasal cavities of men. There's no reason for women to be trampled, no matter the bitterness.

Len, you are a lifetime member, you can install an ad blocker - you still get adverts for the anthology but it stops other adverts (I would prefer to advertise my OWN book on my poetry page not theirs)

Thanks, David. Sometimes to get knocked down again and again, but there really is something to be said about joined forces... not as a military, but if that's what it takes, we're not opposed to using a pen as a sword that may possibly put a chink in the armor of an offender.
