This Heart of Mine

locked away
like a prisoner
for life

it wishes
for days
without
bondage

beats
without
echoes
falling
behind

moments
breathless
without
struggle

memories
without
pain

to bleed
love
without
hesitance

to escape
these walls
that protect

it feels safe
locked away
like a prisoner
for life
it stays

Thank you so much Vijay... i guess we can't always hide all of life's pain, even if we want to... hugs :)

How can something so big and caring be hidden away, locked up for life? You need to let your beautiful heart out for some air, all of us would benefit from it. Sad my friend, lonely and empty feeling but the ink flows so wonderfully from your pen, even the sadness can be beautiful.

perhaps it's used to giving but not receiving...one is protected more behind bars then out in the world...just musing, my sister works in a state prison...i've gotten some tours, pretty cool to tour but sad to see...just using the metaphor....for the most part, thank you for your kindness my dear friend.... hugs :)

Sometimes its hard to shake those feelings, love can be the greatest gift or the worst curse depending on which side of fate you're on. Keep up the good work Sandra.

Thank you so much Phil...i think many put up walls once the scars run deep....i agree that it can be a good gift if true... though some never experience love at all in their lives, so it's better to love and lose than never to love at all... i never know where my musing scribbles will take my pen. the beauty of writing.... hugs
