This Breath I'M a Taking
THIS BREATH I’M A TAKING
The whole wide world
awaits the sunrise
no one want to see the momentum end
maybe it’s for the last time
this old bluesman aught to know.
I’m finished howling at the moon
come on in babe sit down by me
listen to my melologic words
like the breeze rustling through the trees.
I’ll wrench at my guitar
cause it plays pretty like that
fits the wailin’
whilst the world is about to leave
and it ain’t coming back.
Only I know I’m goin’ down fast
this breath I’m a takin' ain’t gonna last.
