Notes About The Poem

For Nette Onclaud's Personally Speaking Poetry Contest

This Autumn Crypt

I am a vault for the deceased - for those who failed to make it past the autumn of their lives. I house the bones of the fallen ones too frail to endure another winter - who withered away like fall’s dry leaves. Oh, how beautifully they shone in the spring of their lives.

Who would think one could write a soft, lovely poem about a crypt, but you did.

So many amazing images, Andrea. Such a creative take on the contest - the crypt itself speaking in original expressions. Congrats and high fives for your win! Hugs and blessings.

Hi Andrea, This is a poignant piece delicately executed with consummate skill. Written in a sympathetic mode so mindful of human frailty. Good luck in contest. Howard
