Notes About The Poem

"FOR IN MANY THINGS WE OFFEND ALL. IF ANY MAN OFFEND NOT IN WORD THE SAME IS A PERFECT MAN AND ABLE ALSO TO CONTROL THE WHOLE BODY."                                                                                                                                                   James 3:2         In other words if you can control your tongue you can control the rest of your body too.            What I'm tying to say here is this: YOU WANT TO BE LIKED;  Be likable. Be fun to be with. Be easy on the nerves. No one wants to be around Dr. Gloom and Doom all the time. You want to be avoided, keep it up.                                                                                                                    YOU WANT TO BE LABLED: Give people a tag and they will be happy to pin it on you.              Or you could just try to treat others the way you want to be treated and see what happens.

Think First - Speak Later

The less said the best said, or so I have heard,
Is often the best rule of thumb,
For trouble is wrought more often than not,
By the unguarded human tongue.

For 'tis easier by far to quell the unsaid,
Than to mend a wound opened by candor;
And senseless indeed to ignore the soul's need,
For assurance and welcome not slander.

So take into account your own feelings Friend,
And listen to things that you say.
How would you feel were these things said to you,
Your actions, perchance be repaid?

Wonderful sage advice in this poem that teaches more than preaches! I wish everyone would try to guard their words a bit better, including myself. A great rhyme that should be taught in English class. Have a great week my friend. Blessings xxoo

Words are gentle in some ways but they can cut like a sword. I know a poet here who said I entered a contest when I did not. Dropped me like a ton of bricks. I prefer poets that are wise like you.
