like his warm breath on my neck naked, curled around me in sweet darkness like the edge on janis' voice wailing with her whole self compelling me along like the ache in my feet from carrying coffeepots all night long like the fights in my head i have with imaginary him never said aloud like the sting of smoke, so often i've never minded my addictions like color bursts in my vision rippling, changing at a turn of my head like sunlight as i try to sleep while he flips and flops and my mind hazes ~ from 1997
