They Know Who
(Has The Money)

I’m long past the age where,
those younger, look past me as if I don’t exist.
Some even dare to stare,
often I’m tempted to be surly, but I resist.
Sometimes they force a smile,
maybe say something I’ll think is funny.
But that’s better than being hostile,
when asking an oldster to donate money.
“The older you get the greater you were”
