They Call Me the Boogie Man
They call me the Boogie Man
They call me the Boogie Man...cause, that's my name
I'll always be around to drive your kids insane
Nobody wants to have what I got
When I get sick, man I'm covered in snot
I'm the Boogie Man
Yeah, that's my name
Today I sneezed so bad that it felt I was gonna explode
It left a trail like a snail, when I sneeze I really unload
I made plans to see a doctor about my nose
A few box of Kleenex and I'll be ready to go
Cause I'm the Boogie Man
That's my name
They call me the Boogie Man...cause, that's my name
I'll always be around to drive your kids insane
Nobody wants to have what I got
When I get sick, man I'm covered in snot
Yeah, I'm the Boogie Man
That's my name...
-
Adults are always try'na say that I'm not real
But turn out the lights and hear the children squeal
I'm inside their closet, I'm under their bed
You'll think your kids have gone and lost their head
They'll call me the Boogie Man
cause, that's my name
Yes I'm the Boogie Man, that's my name

When I was very young my mother once tried to scare me by saying "if you don't go to bed the Boogie man will get you!" But my response, as she has told me many times, was a sarcastic " give me a break mom, what's he gonna do put boogers on me? Really. ". A bogeyman is meant to embody childhood fear, right. I wonder why they now pronounce his name so similar to the dirt within our noses.
