These Brown Eyes

These brown eyes, Have searched for the truth of who we really are. Wondering why at times this world is so cold. These brown eyes, Have witnessed Death and poverty, Seeing people living and surviving in the streets, With nowhere to go, And no one to turn too, Living off the land, Begging strangers for help. These brown eyes, Have seen children with no homes, No family. Left alone in this world No one to hold or love them. Left with nothing But the clothes on their backs, With no food to feed them, No water to replenish them, No home to house them, No one to love them. These Brown eyes, Have watched and wept for those in need. Therefore, my hands will become a beacon of light, There to hold them, To strengthen them. My words will heal them, Helping them to feel loved and appreciated. These brown eyes, Have seen the world. My hands, Have healed and strengthened the wounded, While my heart has still believed that there is still Some good in this world, And these brown eyes will seek the truth, As my heart beats with every breathe that I have to believe it.
