There Lived a Man

There lived a man, in a village ancient With sagely wisdom like fire-borne gold With mountainous virtues he stood patient To hold on to his beliefs he was bold Each test of his life he daringly bore With sagely wisdom like fire-borne gold Dilemmas, no doubt, troubled his inner core Conflicts within and without did torment Each test of his life he daringly bore Though to no evil course he did relent Good seemed bad, vice versa; he was perplexed Conflicts within and without did torment When he found in a state morally vexed He took hold of the hand of the Lord, lo, Good seemed bad, vice versa; he was perplexed With his life, so lonely, like a caged pet There lived a man, in a village ancient He took hold of the hand of the Lord, lo, With mountainous virtues he stood patient 03 November 2022
