There Is a Moral Here Somewhere

The Vicar of the small town of Fife
Passing a brothel heard shouts of strife,
Flames engulfing the building were rife
Rushed in to save someone’s life
Found he had just saved his wife.

Hey Harry, this one is awesome...very well thought of...makes us think too...I thought of this angle....Maybe the Vicar wanted to visit the brothel himself...but instead the brothel was in flames...so he rushed in because he heard screams...he thought his mistress's life was in danger...instead he found his wife...So,who's guilty??? Tables turned...Now you say...

Oh I read this before but got distracted before I could comment. "There's a moral here somewhere" for sure, Harry! The Vicar might have been heading out for a romantic tête à tête, but since his wife had left earlier, she'd rushed into the brothel to help the people escape? The moral might be interchangeable?:( Best wishes, Mikki

Reminds of objections by people in over crowded life boat moving away from the sinking Titanic. They objected to picking up any more in the water. Then relented to one more. Once on board the survivor discovered his wife in the same boat.

Got a chuckle..Sad thoughts that a Vicar's wife would be there though..Enjoyed..The moral is maybe his wife needed his love and attention more than the places that he was honoring with his time...Sara

so he meant to kill his wife but forgot about it and when he saw the flames he went to save someone and ironically saved his wife??? Is the moral that when doing a crime u get punished??? I don't get it exactly???
