There Are Days When

The luster of the dipping sun How wondrous to behold-- Its veil encircling oaks and cliffs With hints of fire and gold : Then tinselled beams illuminate A passage down the road; Mirroring spangle of lanterns As this heart yearns for warm abode. On days like this…I seek relief From uptown’s rhythmic noise-- Where faceless crowds scuttle around That lulled breaths grant me joys: While back at home to gather strength For quickly wanes the light-- Till calm reflections blend to fuse Embracing hushed midnight. Congratulations Nette on your first place win. You are on a roll my friend. Beautiful phrases like "dipping sun," "uptown's rhythmic noise," "tinselled beams." So graphic.

Of late i don't be around a lot of people. I'm at my best with my loved ones, or alone wrestling with some interesting thoughts. At home in an amazing husband and dad I hear. But my daughters say I'm a horrible grandfather because the kids can't do no wrong in my eyes. I think they're jealous; my wife too. Blessings Nette
