Then and Now
We were once small, unable to stand,
—supported by hands that guided our land;
We crawled, we fell, but we never gave in;
We rose up again, and learned to begin.
And with each step forward, we grew strong and grand.
We spoke in baby talk, with words so unsure,
But with time, our voices grew clear and pure;
We learned to write, to read, and to be—
our dreams and hopes, began to set us free.
And though it was tough, we made it through.
So don't give up now—don't lose your way,
Keep pushing forward—come what may.
Hold on to hope, and never let go,
Work hard, pray hard, and your dreams will grow.
