Them Irish

They charged the Irish did, into a storm of flying steel and burning lead. Then, came a cry at Heaven’s gate, clear the way, ‘tis the Irish who have met their fate. The gate was opened, and the Irish marched through, the angels saluted, it is said that God did too.

Great one Jeff. I like all things Irish. My wife and I will be making our second trip-my third-to the ould sod this June. There is a song by one Steve Earle call Dixieland. It is about Killrain a fightin man with the 20th Maine. That fits well with your poem. Thanks for posting Oliver
