The World Revolves Without Us
drowning
in seas of great debt
greater mistakes
the greatest regret
not stepping beyond such shallow waters
i might have been safe
safer
out there in the open sea
not drowning
not gasping for air
and not drowning
not begging and pleading for his life and for mine
and not drowning
