The world is watching with bated breath, while an unforsaken slaughter takes place A man with no soul, an angel of death There is no escape from this labyrinth, only terror he brings to his own race The world is watching with bated breath With rage, pent-up frustration, and faith Good men do their part, fighting to replace, a man with no soul, an angel of death Poets write forthright about him in depth, with a fury about what’s taking place The world is watching with bated breath One man’s brutality, Lord thy feareth. Oligarchs flee on their yachts and disgrace, a man with no soul, an angel of death As we stand together, we send a pleth— ory of prayers to end this, with God’s grace The world is watching with bated breath, a man with no soul, an angel of death

Villanelle is a very difficult form I have never been confident enough even to attempt. But Anaya, I must say you have done it with utmost ease ! The world pities the fate of a group of people who have become the prey of the man with no soul. Unfortunately he never seems to foresee what will become of him.....! So wisely articulated!

Powerful words Anaya. Your contrast between the "angel of death" and God's warriors in prayer and in Ukraine gives this poem a power and force of will to remain in the solidarity in prayer and faith. This "angel of death," in the throes of wickedness, refuses to see he has no victory. Grace and blessing to you.

Very interesting Joe, Biden held back the aid just for a short while so that all the Nato nations could release the aid at the same time. Which made the US contribution more effective. If I am not mistaken...Thanks Joe! Biden had no power in 2014

Donald Trump withheld lethal aid to Ukraine so he could use it as leverage for his campaign. This is a shameful and illegal act, directly hurting the Ukraine defense today. I read it this morning, thought I would paste here...THANK YOU, TOM

I copy an example of one above my villanelle, remember capitalizing rhymes, small for refrains! I found that Milton doesn't follow that rule and so I changed mine to all caps. Thanks, Jeff
