The Word

The WORD was there before the dawn of time
His Voice, unheard by any living soul
Most Holy God proclaimed His grand design
with sounds so pure it made the angels glow.

Creator God, who knew the heart of man
desired faithfulness, a choice to make
the enemy was near to thwart God's plan
yet sacrifice would cover for Loves' sake.

One holy night the Promised One appeared
God's only Son, the WORD, came in the flesh
to preach the gospel truth for all to hear
He came to save mankind from sin and death.

Then He arose, triumphant from the grave
and from above He'll come again someday.

AMEN...AMEN....The Prince of Peace will come again. What a beautiful sonnet, my dear. God bless you for sharing the truth of John 1....In the beginning was the Word. It reminds me of the song by Michael Card...Final Word. Loved your poem. It was truly a blessing to read. You found all the right words to give glory to the living WORD.
