The Wind Shepherdess

The Wind Shepherdess The wind, Like a shepherdess, Gathers misty spindrift; Heaven’s lambs From azure fields Where they pasture Viewing paradise In meadows without edges; Gliding effortless In pastoral symphonies.

Your lovely poem, Sam, reminded me of a 'guided fantasy' exercise we used to help patients relax to in hospital using the power of their imagination. Great use of metaphor too. Cheers Gary.

Cascading rhyme through metaphor after another easy flowing metaphor, climaxing in a musical ending. Very interesting piece with the offset indenting form. Nicely done.

Oh Andrea, thank you so much! From your clouds rest near the Wasatch, you get to experience the wonders of clouds taking the most delightful shapes through all kinds of weather. I am so glad you liked this little poem. It was fun to write.

This is so evocative of pastoral peacefulness, especially love the line 'meadows without edges' - you have painted a lovely picture, Sam-

Love this picture of azure fields, where sea mist and clouds roam, shepherded by the wind... so imaginative and clever, yet so simple and elegant. "Gliding effortless in pastoral symphonies". I see your trademark style of paralleling two seemingly disparate images (sky and pasture) into one seamless one. With a little music reference thrown in for good measure! Gorgeous. <3

Yes, Beethoven's #6. One of my top 5 symphonies. Just found out today the SD Symphony has it scheduled for next season!
