The Wee Hour Rainfall

The heaven opened at the wee hour, A heavy downpour that almost took the village away, Thunder pealed in an unutterable loudness And cause my heart to beat pitter-patter in unspeakable fear Cos the tidings once swept through the village That a thunder like this once made a young lad, Shuffled his mortal coil. And so as the thunder clapped a deafening sound, With a blinding flash of lightening o'er our slumbering head I quiver in fear underneath my duvet, My knees kissing my forehead I remained blinkless, And chant a loud soundless prayer, As the inky blackness of the night disappears into the first light
