Notes About The Poem
I wrote this last night after my prayer time. I began to think about how Jesus may have actually seen the face or somehow acknowledged each soul whose sin he was paying for. He took the place of every person who ever lived or will live... paying the blood sacrifice required fir us to be clean before a righteous and holy God. Also, to fulfill prophecy and the law, to defeat death, Satan, hell, and the grave! Yes, he died for each and every person but that gift cannot take effect until that person accepts it for themselves. Kind of like... if FEDEX pulled into your driveway with a package but needed your signature in order to give it to you. Untill you sign and accept the package it isn't yours yet... HOWEVER!!!... once you do accept it NO ONE, NOTHING, can ever take it from you. Lol sorry such a long note, if your reading i say thank you! And if you've never accepted the gift of Salvation and you have questions, please soup mail me! I'd be happy to try to answer them. And to show you in the scriptures exactly what God has to say about salvation. I hope you enjoy the song and that it touches your heart with love! Xoxo
Listen to poem:

The Way

[Verse]
It began in earnest with betrayal…and sealed with a kiss
After a long night of prayer...the arrows from Satan close but miss
The trial, a farce, but I know it's all in the plan
I came here to teach, to be the sacrifice for every man
Satan jeers and mocks through the mouths of men, each time a fist hits my face, I forgive them again.

[Chorus]
I came to deliver you
The one who spit in my face
The man that hammers the nails, I'm here to take your place
The one behind the bloody whip who laughs at my pain
I love you with every strike, each strike I forgave
Oh my love for you just over flows
Through the ages to every soul

[Verse]
I see your face as I hang upon this cross
Flashes of all the ones I love who are lost
The weight of sin makes it so hard to breathe
When you reject the gift I've given freely
But you who lifts your hands in love and praise
How you ease the weight and soothe the pain
All the souls my father made go through my mind… As I make the way

[Chorus]
I came to deliver you
The one who spit in my face
The man that hammers the nails, I'm here to take your place
The one behind the bloody whip who laughs at my pain
I love you with every strike, each strike I forgave
Oh my love for you just over flows
Through the ages to every soul

[Tag]
I am the way
I am the truth
I am the life
My love for you just over flows and over flows…through the ages to every soul…to every soul.
