The Way
"THE WAY"
what they never tell you is,
getting it together takes long.
what they never tell you is,
getting it together after
losing it all is quicker.
what they never tell you is,
getting it together again and
again will murder it all.
this time,
I picked a female who puts
three subjects before me:
her brothers, her kids and
the coloreds.
I picked a red head who has
hated that she never had a
father and now that she has
one, she hates it, she hates
me.
I picked an antisocial
teenager who doesn’t know if
she should love or hate me.
I picked a thirteen-year-old
who loves me because the man
her mother needed for the
moment despises her.
I picked a tinker bell who
loves males but hates that he
finally had one to correct
him.
what they never tell you is,
getting it together for a
group who never had it
together can turn hatred for
you.
so confused, so hurt,
so scared, so abandoned,
so fatherless.
here I am-
here I am-
here I am-
I’m here.
