The Wave

. Beneath a brilliant sapphire blue and cloudless canopy, dipping swaying dreamily adrift in a fantasy, shimmering in the noon daylight she dances with the breeze, until she breaks on the shore and is swallowed by the sea. ~~~~~~~~~ Author: Elaine George Written: February 9th, 2006

wow, I just adore that final line. hey, it's also using the word "swallowed" like in my river poem. Something about that cool word at the end of a water poem! congrats on the HM.

How beautiful is this....!! (Should be a number #1....) such a breathtaking personalization that could describe a lovely piece of art! Congratulations, Elaine. Ps...I can't tell you how I am warmed by your kind comments.....over the years, the Soup has grown and changed, but I still hold fondly the first poets I have met here, and so glad you are still among those who have stayed on! :)

I will start working my way backwards from this page 9 toward the front now that you are back with us, Lainie. I really liked the last line, telling how she is swallowed by the sea in the end. Nice description of a wave for personification. I am sure you are very prolific too, my dear. If not for contests, I would be very uninspired and hardly writing at all!! Luv, Andrea
