The Walk To Work
The copper coloured leaves like rain fall.
Carpeting the floor better than the finest Axminster.
Every hue of yellow and brown just lay there.
Cushioning that dreaded walk to work.
Leaving skeletons silhouetted against the sky
To scare you on the way home, when autumn's sun has set .
It's raining like the gods are crying
at summers passing and seagulls dance against the pencil grey sky.
The grey slates on roof tops shine with autumn's rain
as you walk into work to begin yet another day.
