Notes About The Poem

For Seth Pina's Embrace the Void Poetry Contest

The Void

I imagine
stretched out ahead of me
an expanse of nothingness
so vast and inexplicable
that were I to measure it
I would need an eternity
which I believe
the limitlessness of
that expanse to be.

Dare I let go
of all I hold so dearly
and of all the things
of such unnecessary value
in this material world?
I know I need to dare let go and
embrace the void.

Yes, we have to let go everything of this material world and embrace the void that stretches limitless. Great write.

So beautiful! I love this free verse! You do know how to write a good one that flows so well! And i love how it ends on a positive note, amidst the void sometimes to embrace it is wisest of all! A fave this is for me! Pleasure reading Sending you light always

Thanks, Ink. This is the only way I could think to do something on a void.

We stop living when we are controlled by what we have and where we have been. We seek rightly Freedom of the eternal moment -- as with God our Eternal Creator. Very thoughtful and profound write, Andrea. Blessings.

"embrace the void' leaves me with so many choices of nothingness. Thanks for sharing.

The contest sponsor asked that we end our poem that way. I don't know. Does it sound kinda cool?
