The Voice Inside of Me

No one gave me power, no one gave me pride, No one gave me sympathy, to make me feel alive, No one gave honor, no one gave me fear, No one gave me tissue, to wipe away my tears, No one gave me thought, no one taught me to read, no one gave me water, to nurture my own seed, No one gave me wisdom, No one gave me hope, No one washed away my sorrow with a bar of soap, No one tried to teach me, no one cared to know, No one tried to vision, what I had to show, No one gave me air, nor showed me to believe, No one taught me beginnings of the birds and the bee's, No one gave me food, Not one pinch of grain, No one tried to help me from going through insane, No one showed me love, no one help me trust, no one showed me greed nor even that of lust, No one helped me to my feet, so here I Lay, In a puddle of pain with nothing to say, I tried to be heard, but no one cared to see, the only one who'd listen, was the voice inside of me.
