The Visitor

I keep searching for clues
in an irrational way
trying to figure out
who you are
I'm disappointed
I cared about you
from the start
you were perfect
but entirely damaged
I'm not permitted
to accept your flaws
you are an illusion
a lie
a false hope
something I couldn't have
and now I'm missing it
searching for it
somewhere
clinging on to leads
mysteries
searching and searching
looking to the sky
but not knowing
where you are
trying to find someone else
trying to forget
trying to let go
