“I almost wish we were butterflies and liv'd but three summer days - three such days with you I could fill with more delight than fifty common years could ever contain.” - John Keats

Listen to poem:
You make me Tingle The flutter of your wings Tickles my soul As your beauty darts before me Resting for a moment On my timeline Capture me please Let me be absorbed. Hold time delicately As you wave and say hello I want you to live here In my consciousness So I can meditate on The beauty of This fleeting moment I hope you feel the love In some ethereal way The joy Of my connection with you So that it brightens Your colours Fashioned by a masterful artist From the palette of Whimsical, yet powerful design Simultaneously Reflecting into the Eye that beholds The extraordinary Dichotomy of Real From first imagined A fragile construction Of pure love Soon the breeze of sadness Will whisk you away Yet I will stay In this moment Close my eyes and.. Re-live The wonder The vibrancy Of having you Pass by As you visited So closely Too closely To ever be forgotten

Dear Sam, what a truly joyous poem to read and reflect upon. I just had to read it several times to absorb the beauty and delicacy of your skilled poetic words. Like dear Inky, I can sense a romantic, tender touch too and there is much depth within its lines. I love the Keats quote too - such a perfect companion alongside the picture. Your narration brings the words to life as they flutter from the page so gracefully like butterfly wings. You have such a talent, ability, to capture and

What a most beautiful poem this is, its so good to see you post after a long time dear sam, and i must say this has a very romantic touch to it, and its very moving and heartfelt: i see many butterflies and i think the same sometimes… especially i resonated with the lines “ I hope you feel the love In some ethereal way The joy Of my connection with you So that it brightens Your colours” i feel this way for many, i wish they would find love and feel love too. And the ending is just so very moving! A poem worthy of all the accolades for sure! Pleasure reading! Sending you light always

Butterflies have four wings which are brightly coloured and patterned. Butterfly wings are covered in tiny scales and they are the only insects with scaly wings. Each scale on a butterfly's wings are a single colour, either red, yellow, black or white. Butterfly colours, including green and blue, are created by light refracting on the butterfly’s wings. The patterns and colours on butterfly wings are symmetrical and as the butterfly grows older, its wings fade and become ragged. - London Zoo
