The Valley of Baca

an Arabian sonnet Greetings to one who cries for salvation; God hears the tears of your desolation. Crying for our Lord’s shield from privation strength comes, Messiah gives confirmation. One day spent as keeper of His threshhold, one day guarding the gate to His sheepfold, better by far than one searching for gold. No good thing will God’s Anointed withhold. From your tears, create a thirst-quenching spring, build fountains so gushing water can bring life-giving strength and glory for our King. How lovely, His tabernacles of praise, How safe, the shelters He calls us to raise, How blessed, strength to strength in God’s dwelling place. I welcome your comment as well as the placement. Written after last Sunday's sermon on Psalm 83- 84. Israel last Nov/Dec did a movie called The Valley of Tears based on the Yom Kippur War (Oct. 1973), when Egypt and Syria tried to take Israel off the map. Thanks for the support, John.

thank you, Kim, written from notes taken on last Sunday's sermon. Israel has a documentary TV series, The Valley of Tears started last fall on the Yom Kippur War of 1973 when Egypt and Syria attacked Israel on this holy day from opposite sides, the Golan Hts. and the Sinai Peninsula.
