The Unfledged Albatross

feathers and bones at rest
                             a belly full of plastic
                       on our tab starved to death

                                        * * *

                       our lives  framed  by beauty
                                 stripped of life

                           the perfect photograph*

We are a race more concerned with now than with what kind of legacy we leave our children, sadly ... it's not encouraging, our message to the future. Wonderfully substantive and hard-hitting ... adore this. <3

Thank you so much Mike. It is an insurmountable sadness and Jordan's photograph, more than any other I have seen, captures that perfectly. Thank you for the fave, such suggests to me that I may have managed to capture a smidgen of the power of that image. xomo

I thought of hosting a contest to write of his photo, not sure I could muster the words myself. It took me almost a year, even now I don't believe I have done it justice, rather allegiance. It is perfect in its horror and its beauty.
