The Truth Stood Downcast In a Lie
The truth stood downcast in a lie,
crestfallen, I wither in dust,
I have drowned in rivers of dry,
you have drowned in oceans of lust.
Fading into ashes I burn,
the truth stood downcast in a lie,
prevarication tables turn,
honesty that bleeds can’t comply.
You seek forgiveness I deny,
I will grant no absolution,
the truth stood downcast in a lie,
falsehood gives no resolution.
My reasons are very simple,
fabrications do multiply,
your true heart became a swindle,
the truth stood downcast in a lie.
