The True Vine

“I'm the true vine and you the new shoots
dwelling in me you draw from my roots.”
     Said Jesus to them.
     “By pruning each stem
as branches you'll find joy in your fruits.”

“I ask you now to love one another
offering to serve those who may suffer,
     a ready befriender
     your life to surrender
loving the stranger as sister or brother.”

John 15.1-13
