The Trepidation Conquest
Society’s lethal expectations stalk private yearns
They creep and stab at me in an eye of lust and vehemence
Emergent and muscular, they attack Akeley and fizz with amusement
Looming in clouds of filthy fever they suffocate.
Omnipotent and all-seeing, these demands haunt every corner of relief
They’re always watching—waiting for my eminent self destruction.
