The Tree in the Winter Oh how one can see You have lost your beauty To the outside appearance The cold snow covers your limbs Even down to surrounding the roots Appearing alone in seeking death In the night you feel no hope Left out in the darkness Feeling to have gone blind in the search But within you still seek That morning sunlight to bring warmth Which is felt in the center of the soul Keeping hope it will live to another season Growing in depth and embracing These times to create beauty within For when it's time for the spring The beauty will flourish to all around Growing new limbs full of leaves Giving shelter for the birds to raise their young Revealing to others the life within Which has given so much joy To keep growing and absorbing All the surrounding water and sunlight Which is available to any that seek Shouting with praise for others To receive this new life within

WoW! Stephan, You painted a beautiful picture with words on the stages of a true. I enjoyed the transition of the tree in the “ Winter to Spring”. I could picture the tree coming alive in the Spring. In nature truly see God’s glory.Well done:-) Alexis

- A tree covered in hoarfrost or snow is also beautiful to look at, Stephan - In winter it "sleeps" and gathers new strength for spring's beautiful new leaves - hugs

Such a great piece written with real insightfulness and good line of thought Stephan, there's something special about a tree standing alone in winter. Blessings,Gordon

All glory to God, indeed my friend all has meaning all around us when taken notice, as the word of God has meaning of what's taking place within us

Stephan, you have written a very beautiful poem here. Certain varieties of trees are similar to human beings which causes one to appreciate life and be proud.

The external beauty may diminish , but the hope inside keeps the embers of life from dying out. When the congenial time comes, the embers will spark into flames and shed light ! You have made a beautiful analogy of human life and the tree that stands naked devoid of leaves in winter but stays proud crested with leaves and flowers in spring. Well done Stephan!
