The Tortoise Revolution

Talking softly as only a rock would do she rolls her tongue around then gurgles leaving little ripples as far as the eye could see mesmerized am I by a sunlit stream; Squatting down I watch the little turtle struggle with solid plastron and four chubby legs she crawls towards my feet move , rescind move , rescind rocking her tortoise bulk up and down the stream, she suddenly reminds me of an old father song "Down by the lazy river " intonations vibrate into the lowly sky leading me to a quizzical thought how did the sun know where to climb? I sense a kinship soul of like proportion and know beyond a doubt that this turtle in solidarity knows me by name. March 26, 2019

I love this Vie. I must tell you my turtle story of love. My daughter has a medium-size turtle she must bring in the house when it's very cold. She has a half-moon parrot that follows this turtle everywhere even kissing the turtle on the cheek. Contd

My daughter thought the love affair was one-sided until one-day the bird was scolded for being bad and put back in her cage. The turtle walked across the floor and sat right in front of the cage to soothe the feelings of his feathered friend! Congratulations on your top win with this sweet poem! Easter blessings xxoo

Ah, that is the sweetest story I ever did hear. Animals are so sensitive and so kind to each other, Wish we would follow their example more often. Thank you for sharing this delightful story. love xo

This is so much fun to read, whimsically delightful. This ending is classic " know beyond a doubt that this turtle in solidarity knows me by name. " Wow!

Mesmerized my the slow moving turtles. The poor little things cross the roads here and they are luck if one gets out of their car to move them out of the way. I enjoyed reading, Pixie. Hugs Eve ~`*

Lovely verse Pixie, the title caught my eye as my daughter has just bought one and good old dad has been given the task of making an outside run, ( nearly finished). Tom
