The Thought of You

How gentle the thought of you
Caresses my mournful heart
As linger memories so few
Since we’ve been torn apart

Life can be unkind and callous
We did treasure every moment
But truly it was bitterly vicious
How our world changed by one incident

You and I both had dreams
Lady luck we did implore
Presumptuous by no means
Fond memories live on evermore

Life for me now veils dark's undertone
Yet in my loneliness I feel not so alone
